Doctoral Studies

The doctoral studies at the Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy of the University of Freiburg are carried out by the Hermann Staudinger Graduate School.

Doctoral studies – Overview:

1. Written application for acceptance as a doctoral candidate at the Faculty and admission by the doctoral examination committee
   Important: Registration as a doctoral candidate must take place before the start of the research work and the accompanying doctoral program!
2. Compulsory enrollment or registration at the Rectorate / Student Service Center
3. Research schedule and individual study program
4. Submission of the doctoral thesis and application for the launch of the examination process
5. Assessment of the doctoral thesis by the reviewers
6. Display of the doctoral thesis and the reviews
7. Oral defense
8. Determination of the overall grade and overall rating by the doctoral examination committee, conferral of the academic degree of Doctor of Sciences (alternatively Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)) and commitment of the doctoral candidates
9. Publication of doctoral thesis
10. Presentation of the Doctoral degree certificate
